Heritage Draught Horse Club Inc.

The aim of Heritage Draught Horse Club Inc. is to promote all aspects of the uses of Draught horse in bygone days, and to encourage their use in today’s activities be it on the land, bush or for tourism. Where possible, we will attend Heritage festivals, shows etc. to put on displays of horses working in an array of vintage implements and vehicles. Members will be provided with the knowledge and instruction on the safe handling of horses when putting into harness, safe driving of them, the training required for the driver and the horse, as well as hitching horses to implements in a safe manner and their uses.

Churchill Island Heritage Farm – Victorian Collections Catalogue

The collection of cultural objects, items and built-heritage form the basis for the historic tale of Churchill Island where in 1801, during a survey of Western Port Bay, Lieutenant James Grant came ashore and built a rudimentary cottage. His team went about clearing land and planting wheat and corn crops as well as fruit trees and vegetables, which formed the first known European garden in Victoria and was created using seeds provided by John Churchill.
Churchill Island Marine National Park

Located south of Rhyll, on the eastern shore of Phillip Island, in Western Port, Churchill Island Marine National Park extends from Long Point south of Rhyll township to the north point of Churchill Island and along the island's western shore to the bridge. The Park is part of the Western Port RAMSAR site and is an important habitat for many bird species. Bird watching is a popular activity in the park. Many birds feed, roost and breed around the bay and you may be able to spot birds that have migrated from across the globe.
