Meet our new secretary Christine Grayden. Christine has kindly taken over from Bonnie, who unfortunately had to leave us due to pressing commitments. Thank you Bonnie, and welcome Christine. Christine has a decades-long association with Churchill Island and FOCIS. She worked as curator on Churchill Island for 8 years until her retirement in 2018, and has previously been FOCIS secretary for some years up until 2020, so she may well be able to answer lots of your questions about FOCIS and Churchill Island’s history. She collaborated with FOCIS president David Maunders on revising Pat Baird’s book Churchill Island History and Her Story. Together they produced the third edition in 2021, which is still available via the FOCIS website, Churchill Island visitors centre, and from Turn the Page bookshop in Cowes. A large print edition is also available. We have an urgent need to appoint a secretary. If we cannot do so at the committee meeting next Tuesday, the society will be in breech of legal requirement and have to be dissolved. Any offers urgently to president@focus.org.au

FOCIS has served ChurchillnIsland for over 40 years, raised funds for restoration and provided volunteers.

Our Facebook page has over 600 followers. We need one of you to join our committee as secretary. Bonnie has to resign as a result of family needs. If we do not appoint a secretary by 14 March, FOCIS will have to dissolve.
